What Is SWOT Week and How To Survive It?
28 September 2022
Written by Y Suites

SWOT (Study Without Teaching) week is a week without classes just before the semester examinations. This period is intended to give you and other students a chance to revise for the upcoming exams. Having the time off from lectures and tutorials allows you time to not only prepare better but also review what has been learned throughout the semester.

It may be a stressful period, but with a little bit of planning and some smart studying strategies, you can make it through SWOT week with your sanity intact. Here’s your ultimate guide to surviving it.

Plan Ahead

One of the best ways to reduce stress during SWOT week is to plan ahead. Make a study schedule and stick to it! Try to study for a few hours every day leading up to the exams, so you don’t have to cram everything in at the last minute. Once you’ve got your study schedule sorted, you can move on to the next step.

Get Organised

Another important way to reduce stress during SWOT week is to get organised. Make sure you know where all of your materials are and that you have everything you need before you start studying. This includes things like textbooks, notes, and any other resources you might need. Having everything organised and within easy reach will make your studying experience a lot smoother.

Study Smarter, Not Harder

It’s important to remember that quality is more important than quantity when it comes to studying. You don’t need to spend hours hunched over your books; 25 minutes of focused, intense study is often more productive than an hour of half-hearted effort. Try different study strategies and see what works best for you. Some students may find that listening to music or reading out loud helps them focus, while others prefer complete silence. There is no one right way to study—it’s all about finding what works for you.

Study Buddy

Additionally, having a buddy can be helpful. You can exchange quizzes, share notes, and motivate each other to keep going when things get tough. Just make sure that your study buddy is serious about studying – you don’t want to end up procrastinating together.

Take Breaks

It’s important to take breaks while you’re studying so you don’t burn out. Give yourself five to ten minutes every hour or so to take a break and clear your head. During your break, you can do something calming, like reading or listening to music. Just make sure you get back to studying afterwards!

Be All Set for Your Exams

SWOT week can be a stressful time, but following these tips can help to ease some of that stress and help you feel ready for the exams. Just remember to take care of yourself, create a study schedule, and reach out for help when needed.

When you finally sit for your exams, you can do it with confidence knowing that you have done your best to prepare for them.
